Glasgow Science Centre are looking to recruit a Senior Science Communicator on a permanent contract.
Glasgow Science Centre is one of Scotland’s must-see visitor attractions. Our mission is to promote science and technology through thought provoking, fun and exciting experiences that inspire all to explore and understand the world around them.
Main Duties:
- To deliver and facilitate high quality programmes and projects for our education and public visitors by working within the Science Learning Team.
- To assume responsibility for the safe delivery of programmes for both presenters and visitors, in house and on outreach.
- To work within the Science Learning Team and with the Duty Managers to ensure that a pool of trained and skilled presenters is maintained to deliver the programmes.
- To assist in the training for programme delivery and provide positive reassessment and mentoring to staff.
- To co-ordinate the resources and scheduling of programmes for education, public and corporate clients.
Skills, Experience & Personal Qualities:
- Proven record of delivering science experiences to school children, public and community groups.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Degree level qualification or relevant experience.
- Basic IT skills.
- Motivation and creativity to convey learning of science & technology to others.
- Available to work a flexible workweek (weekends, evenings, public holidays).
