Hi All,
my two cents.
Agreed that the aim of the current document is mainly to try to steer
CERN to have a neutrino strategy and a strategy towards Finland, I think
there are two main points we need to convey in the document:
- neutrino physics is important and EU needs to get its acts together
and support a strategy;
- the best EU strategy is a long baseline neutrino experiment towards
Finland. In order to progress towards that, we need to start accelerator
R&D at CERN;
Having said that I think it is relevant to show the "other" experiments
(although I agree on the concern on the US strategy), as neutrino
physics is a field whose important is worldwide recognised and UK
physicists are playing leadership roles, but it should be also clear
that the best option, even if possibly longer term, will be the
experiment to Finland.
About the document, I think we should try to combine the best qualities
of the two available. For instance I like more a less itemized version,
but I'd like to make sure that all the points made in the "itemized"
document are kept, a couple just mentioned in previous emails.
Thanks,
Francesca

At that point, we also have to finalise the author list, which is currently just the list of people, which we believe have been in Warwick or have signed up to the neutrino-uk list.
