Exceptionally old for beech trees !!

There is graffiti (not all dated but clearly over a long period) on
some of the beech trees on the henge bank at Avebury, Wilts. For
info these trees were shown as saplings in a sketch dated 1805. I
do't have photos but could easily do this if it helps (I live on the
opposite side of the henge to these trees ;-) ).
