We thought you might like to hear about the MA in Gender &
Sexuality<http://prospectus.lsbu.ac.uk/courses/course.php?UCASCode=unknown&CourseID=8927> starting this September, 2012, at the Weeks Centre for Social and Policy Research, LSBU. Students of Gender and Sexuality enter careers in many fields working for international organisations such as the United Nations, they may take up posts within government, non-government and civil society organisations, as well as teaching posts. Students may also wish to pursue PhD studies to continue their research careers. This course provides a thorough grounding in Gender and Sexuality and its emphasis on research enables students to specialise in their particular areas of
interest.
The MA in Gender and Sexuality is led by Professor Yvette

Head of the Weeks Centre for Social and Policy
Research<http://www.lsbu.ac.uk/ahs/research/weeks.shtml>. The Centre
is named after Emeritus Professor Jeffrey Weeks (OBE), an esteemed
authority on Sexuality and Gender. Professor Taylor has recently
published her new book (2012) Fitting into Place: Class and Gender
Geographies and Temporalities which considers the effects of changing
urban environments on the lives of people and how this impacts on
gender and social class inequalities.
The following modules are core to the programme:
* Understanding Sexuality and Gender Across Time and Place
* Feminist Perspectives on Gender and Sex
* Department of Social Science Research Module
* Intersectional Contexts: Lived Experiences, Methodological Approaches
* Genders and Sexualities in the Media
* Dissertation
