Although I have no idea how it has been calculated, there is also the £80 billion so called disabled pound which we are supposed to spend every year.
The annual spending power of disabled adults in Britain covered by the DDA is estimated at £80 billion per year - DRC - Disability in Scotland 2004: Key Facts and Figures – 2005

Subject: Disability Debate
Hello all
I have just blogged this -
http://multoo.wordpress.com/
I'd welcome any feedback in relation to the size of the "Disability Industry" -
- does anyone have any references for how this industry might be calculated,
- how much it might be worth,
- Etc.
This is an area of work that could do with a bit of unpacking, and I'd welcome any feedback from anyone who has already either unpacked it or has seen it being unpacked.
Many thanks for your time in this
Theo
