Applications received by the deadline of 6 July (4pm) will be
considered, on a competitive basis, for an award of a full (home) fee
waiver.
The Masters by Research offers graduates a rare opportunity to conduct
a substantial piece of academic research at Masters level. We welcome
both full and part-time students, who find that these degrees offer a
powerful way to explore their individual research interests in the
kind of depth and breadth not normally achievable within the
constraints of a taught MA.
As well as specialist one-to-one supervision for the duration of the
MA by Research you will enjoy access to all the SMLLC's facilities and
postgraduate support.
Eligibility conditions apply. Please note that only candidates who
have been offered, and who have accepted, a place to study at Royal
Holloway will be considered for any available funding opportunities.
We will consider applications from comparative topics which might
include comparisons between the literature, film or culture of
different language areas (including texts in translation) subject to
expertise in the School or other comparative topics such as
adaptation, reception, interpretation, performance, place and
displacement or creative transfer amongst others. Prospective
applicants with an interest in any area of comparative literature and
culture should contact Dr Sarah Wright (sarah.wright
@rhul.ac.uk<http://www.rhul.ac.uk/mailcontacts/sarah.wright++rhul+ac+uk>|) as
soon as possible who will be able to offer further advice on making an
application, the programme, the fee waiver award, and on the range of
research themes/topics on which we are able to offer expert supervision.
