journalist Alain Elkann, hosted by the Institute of Germanic & Romance
Studies
and the Department of Italian Studies at University College London.
Alain Elkann will be introduced by Katia Pizzi (IGRS) and Florian
Mussgnug (UCL).

Alain Elkann, born in New York in 1950, is a distinguished Italian
novelist, intellectual, and journalist, who has written extensively
about the Jews in Italy, their centrality to Italian history, and the
relation between the Jewish faith and other religions. He writes
regularly for "La Stampa", "Lo Specchio", "Nuovi Argomenti",
"Capital", "Amica", "Panta" and other newspapers and magazines. He
received the America Award of the Italy-USA Foundation in 2010, was
awarded Chevalier de la Légion d'Honneur in December 2009, and
received the Medaille de Vermeil from the Académie Française in
November 2010. His publications include: Vita di Moravia (1990),
