The Lifecourse, Development and Ageing (LCDA) research theme seeks to appoint a high calibre graduate to undertake a 3 year studentship in the following area:
Concept of Vascular Cognitive Impairment no Dementia
The study will involve a detailed investigation of the concept of Vascular Cognitive Impairment No Dementia, including its prevalence and longitudinal course. The project will be completed within the framework of two large population-based studies of ageing including: the Medical Research Council Cognitive Function and Ageing Study and the Newcastle 85+ Study.
LCDA is a multidisciplinary research theme which brings together health service researchers, clinicians and social and behavioural science to conduct applied health research across the lifecourse. Our research focuses on: ageing and health; transitions in health and disability; improving quality of life; assistive technologies; understanding child disability; cognitive impairment and dementia.
Our work spans a diverse range of clinical specialities and utilises a range of research methods. Applicants should contact the research theme leads named above for further details about individual projects.

This is a 3-year full time studentship. A full award covers tuition fees at UK/EU rate and an annual stipend of approximately £13,590.

Person Specification: You should have a first-class or upper-second-class honours degree in a relevant subject. A Masters level qualification in a relevant discipline is essential and related research experience is desirable.
