Hi - Charlie's correct about the reasons why a CrossRef DOI might not resolve. If you get the page at the end of this link (this is not a valid DOI but will go to the error page) - http://dx.doi.org/10.1023 - and you submit an error report it gets sent to the publisher via CrossRef and CrossRef tracks whether the DOI gets registered by the publisher. If you supply your email then you'll be notified when the DOI gets registered. I would recommend using this form rather than contacting the publisher directly.
