On the eve of Alan Turing's centenary, 21st June, a new exhibition
called Poetry, Language, Code curated by Bronac Ferran opens at the
Ruskin Gallery and studios, Cambridge School of Art, Cambridge
featuring works by Alan Sutcliffe, Ernest Edmonds, Liliane Lijn,
Eduardo Kac, Gustav Metzger, Alessandro Ludovico, Giselle Beiguelman,
heath bunting, William Latham and Alex McLean among others. The
exhibition is part of the Visualise programme of public art which is
supported by Anglia Ruskin University. CAS members are very welcome
to attend this event which will also be marked by a short speech by
Professor Maggie Boden and a live coding performance by Alex McLean
(Private View starts at 6.00 pm and performance/speeches 7.00-7.30
pm). Poetry, Language, Code features a new commission called
Lagoglyph Sound System made with bio-conductive ink by Eduardo Kac and
runs to 12th July with an associated programme of events including a
game especially for twitter called Powergameonline presented by
Liliane Lijn (Ruskin Gallery and online from 5.00-8.00 pm on 5th July)
and 'The Limits of Seeing: Views from Above and Below' - a series of
art and science interventions at the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge
on Saturday 23rd June, from 3.00-6.30 pm. Full programme details at:
