Hi John
Thanks for installing PerfSonar. Duncan will request the appropriate endpoint so that it is visible here: https://perfsonar.usatlas.bnl.gov:8443/exda/?page=25&cloudName=UK. As Mark mentioned privately yesterday,
"once we have a critical core of machines on line we will start running low level benchmark tests against UK sites. This will build up a picture of how well the local to JANET networks are working between sites and RAL.
We have not defined tests as a group yet."
The decision that we took in going with PerfSonar made GRIDMON obsolete longer term, and I suspect with it the old hardware it runs on. In theory the GRIDMON machines still provide data for (http://gridmon.dl.ac.uk/gridmon/graph.html which became) http://gm001.gla.scotgrid.ac.uk/gridmon/graph.html and could still be useful until we fully transition to PerfSonar if that view still works. Neither link give me anything useful at the moment and I suspect getting it to function again is no longer going to happen with the move to PerfSonar. It is a pity as it would be interesting to see how recent Tier-1 and Tier-2 network changes/upgrades have impacted the metrics. There was a spec circulated for the PerfSonar hardware that I suspect the GRIDMON machine will not meet and it will anyway likely be out of warranty so redeployment options are going to be limited.
