Thank you.
I hope to propose a session for LSA, which will discuss recent /ongoing studies documenting the fact that one of the demographic factors which appears to influence speech is the religious background of speakers, the [relative] intensity of their affiliation with the present [and perhaps previous] religious community, and [where relevant] the relative importance of their heritage group, and their religious persuasion. The new format proposed for ‘themed sessions’ includes 3 talks, and a satellite of approximately 10 posters.
If you would like to be included in such a session, can you write to [log in to unmask] this week, saying whether you have sufficient material for a poster or for a deliverable 20 minute paper. Please do not submit an abstract unless you are fairly sure that you will be able to come to Boston the first week of January for the LSA meetings. The directions for the format for abstracts can be found athttp://www.lsadc.org/info/meet-annual13-abguide.cfm. If you can deliver a paper, then please include the abstract, conforming to LSA abstract rules. The jury is still out on whether we have to have full 500-word abstracts for abstracts for posters at this time, but if you get back to me this week, I’ll keep you updated on the LSA’s requirements for the posters.
