We are seeking a post-doctoral scientist with expertise and a track record in the acquisition and analysis of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data of the human brain. Expertise is required in diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), functional imaging (task-induced and at rest) and structural MRI.
The post-holder will be involved in two projects. The first is an MRC-funded adjunct study - MR-IMPACT - to the NIHR-funded IMPACT multicentre randomised controlled trial of psychological interventions in moderate-to-severe adolescent major depressive disorder (MDD). The second is a Wellcome Trust Strategic Award in mental health and neuroscience research called the Neuroscience in Psychiatry Network. Funds of over 5 million pounds have been awarded to this project for over the course of 5 years. The main objective of this multicentre project is to map the structure and functions of the developing adolescent and young adult brain (aged 14 to 24 years) and deviations from these in individuals with mental illnesses, including MDD.
