Records Management Coordinator
£41,124per annum 12-month fixed term contract, London
For more than 50 years Amnesty International (AI) has researched, documented
and published informationexposing human rights abuses. The result is a
vast collection of data that needs to be maintained and managed
to meet the needs of our global movement. Lead our Records
Management team and you can do just that.
About the role
In this key role you will drive the development of information
management strategies that will help to steer the organization through an
exciting change process. You will manage the transfer of digital content to our
website and intranet, the development of our archives and take a leading role
in revising our document management tools, including taxonomies, which will
have an impact on the way information is handled throughout the International
Secretariat and the global movement.
We will expect you to keep up to speed with the latest
developments in information and knowledge management systems as well as setting
team work plans, managing budgets and leading and developing your team. You
will be the leading voice on every aspect of AI’s records, archives and
information management.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will need a relevant degree or
postgraduate qualification, or, alternatively, you could be a Chartered Member
of CILIP. Whatever your academic achievements, you will have significant
experience of providing information management services in a similar
environment. You will be an expert in record-keeping systems and database
software, have a thorough understanding of taxonomy tools and structure and will
have experience of indexing and abstracting. You will demonstrate a high level
of project and people management skills which will be needed to coordinate
multiple workloads, manage budgets and motivate a small, busy team. As well as
a working knowledge of Spanish and/or French, you will have proven ability to deliver
clear written and oral communications in English.
