Sustainable development is one of the challenges of our time. Debate about the best way in which to achieve "green" goals and match the wider corporate social responsibility agenda is gaining momentum among the global business community and is also an issue of pressing concern among governments and legislators.

Defined simply, sustainable development means economic activity that limits, ameliorates or prevents damage to the existing natural environment. It includes improvements in resources and processes, reductions in waste and inefficiency, and also due consideration of the needs and rights of the communities within which organisations operate.

In order to drive this agenda, new economic models and entrepreneurial approaches are gaining currency and have the potential to dramatically reshape and disrupt the business landscape of the 21st century.
