Lawrence: your point about invisibility.
Then there are the legal issues surrounding the thing.
All I can say is that the sky did not fall here in Canada, & by now just about everyone pays the whole thing such little attention that it just seems ordinary.
I like that aspect, whether or not I care about marriage philosophically (& Ive been married now for 46 years, so havent really suffered under/in the institution....
