Associate Research Fellow in Evaluation and Qualitative Research (Ref. E1054/PMS)
Full time, fixed term until end of September 2013
The PCMD wishes to recruit an Associate Research Fellow to support the work of Professor Nicky Britten to carry out an internal evaluation of the NIHR CLAHRC for the South West Peninsula (PenCLAHRC) and contribute to its growing portfolio of research projects. This PenCLAHRC funded post is available immediately and is fixed-term until 30th September 2013.
You will contribute to an ongoing participatory realist evaluation of PenCLAHRC. This will involve using qualitative and quantitative methods of data collection and analysis, and monitoring of management data and review of relevant NHS and Higher Education metrics. In addition, the post-holder will contribute to qualitative research activities for specific projects within PenCLAHRC. You will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information orally and in writing, and help to prepare research proposals and applications to external grant bodies.
You will possess a relevant PhD or equivalent and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. You will have experience of health service research, and knowledge and experience of evaluation and qualitative research projects. Evidence of research activity and published research would be advantageous.
The starting salary will be in the range £24,520 - £27,578.
