The University of West London is looking for an advertising specialist to deliver a third year module in an hourly paid lecturer capacity.
We are looking for someone with an advertising industry background, and also teaching experience within a higher education environment, to teach a level 6/third year module, Account Management, delivered on the Advertising Specialist BA (Hons) programme.
Students taking this module will be interested in becoming account handlers/managers/planners in an advertising, or marketing environment.
We offer students a more general media programme in their first year, where they study aspects of advertising, marketing, creativity and graphics, also media theory. Their subsequent two years are more focussed - specifically on advertising, both account handling/marketing and creative advertising - but with a critical and theoretical thread running throughout. In the final year the students, having been introduced to both sides of the advertising business, specialise in either creativity (producing campaigns and a portfolio), or they study marketing and account handling/planning/strategy.
The ideal candidate would have at least 5 years account handling experience (possibly much more). This should include understanding the business aspects of account/client handling, planning and the strategic processes involved, taking a campaign from 'pitch' to presentation to publication in all media. There is a possibility that the role could be extended for the right candidate.
