The following survey on public perceptions of lads’ mags is being conducted as part of doctoral level research into body politics and the sexualisation of popular culture. It asks for the opinions of both men and women in terms of how they view lads’ mags and the positive and/or negative influences these magazines can have on wider society. The survey pays particular attention to sexuality, the representation of women and the construction of masculinity, whilst also debating regulatory issues such as whether the magazines should be age restricted. The survey takes about 10-15 minutes to complete and is completely anonymous. If you want to take part please click on the following link to have your say. (Please note that the survey does contain three images of the front covers of lads’ mags).
