Dear all
Further to my request a few weeks ago, I've had a few people ask to see the
replies I received. This was the one that fit my needs best- but thank you
again to everyone else that replied.
If anyone has any insight for including figures from Facebook or Mailchimp
in the spreadsheet, that would be much appreciated!
I hope this helps!
Kat

Hi Kat. It's fairly simple, when you know how, to pull Twitter follower
counts into a Google Spreadsheet. To see this in action, start a new
spreadsheet in Google Docs and enter this in the formula field for a cell:
=importXML("[username]http://twitter.com/[username]","//span[@id='follower_c
ount']")
This will fill the cell with the follower count for our university's main
Twitter feed. Just replace [username] with the Twitter username you're
interested in, and repeat that four times for your four Twitter accounts.
You can then sum the columns as usual to get a grand total.
Similarly, you can get subscribers and views from a YouTube account with
this syntax:
=importXML("http://www.youtube.com/user/[username]","//span[@class='stat-val
ue']")
- again, substitute username with yours. In this case, the number of
subscribers will be in the first cell and the total video views in the next.
I'm afraid I've not had much experience with scraping Facebook likes in this
way, but I imagine it's possible. It's also quite likely there are better
ways of doing all this, but using these formulas will get a simple stats
spreadsheet sorted in a very short time. The main downside is that the stats
will be updated live, so you'd need to download or print off a copy on the
day you need your stats. On the other hand, you can make use of other Google
Docs features like publishing to a web resource / RSS feed or whatever.
Hope that's of some help, anyway. If it sounds promising but baffling I'd be
happy to help set up an example spreadsheet using your feeds.

APOLOGIES FOR CROSS-POSTING
Hi All
There may be something really obvious I've not thought of here, but I
wondered, does anyone know of a tool to monitor the number of
followers/favourites/views that you have across your various social media
channels?
I currently look after 4 subject based Twitter feeds, a youtube account, a
Facebook account plus 4 pages, and am regularly asked for information on the
number of followers we have, or the number of views that have occurred. Is
there a way I can collate this info in a single view, without having to log
in and out of the various accounts? It would make life much easier!
Thanks for your help.
