Hi
I pretty much echo Gordon's first point.
Can I ask Gordon if his reports on the website are public?

Hi
At Deakin University in Australia we have been using Thomson Incites for about 6 months.
1. Everyone at the University has access, but only a few people probably know about its availability.
2. In Australia we have been undergoing a research assessment exercise called Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA). About half of the areas are assessed by citation metrics so we supplied summary data to these areas essentially by subject area.
3. We have some reports on our web site which are getting reasonable download numbers.
4. Have just started running reports for Management – most recent was a ranking of researchers. Other have been ranking of research areas by normalised citations, research strengths and collaborators.
We are really in the learning process with this product so I would be happy to participate in any further discussions.
Regards Gordon

Subject: Quick survey on use of Incites/Scival
Dear colleagues,
For those institutions with access to Incites (or SciVal for that matter):
We’re trying to get a feel for the different ways that Incites is used in other HEIs. To this end, I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to answer the following quick questions:
1) Who has access to Incites/SciVal at your institution? (i.e., anyone, academic research coordinators, Library staff (all or some), Research Office staff etc.,)
2) Who are the principle users of Incites/SciVal? (i.e., Library staff, Research staff, Academics, etc.,)
3) Are regular reports run and disseminated to schools?
4) Are regular reports run for Senior Management?
Many thanks in anticipation of your help.
