Hi
Just a comment I can't keep back, in my training experience the fact
that HDAS is not like Ovid has been a major 'selling point' especially
with students. The reaction when I show students, staff etc is this is
easier to use than Ovid.

This is not the attitude, Emily. All NICE changes should automatically
be greeted with suspicion and dislike, not given a ladylike restrained
welcome. Must do better.

Hopefully it's just a mock-up (there is certainly a big enough space for
Cochrane!) and Cochrane will be reinstated in the final version? The
link under eBooks says "access journals" - although links to books - so
there are obviously a few oversights!
The actual HDAS search looks a lot like the OvidSP search, with the
ability to apply limits to an existing results set (rather than only
when running searches) which is handy if like me you're good at
forgetting to apply the limits...
It might be popular with people who are used to the OvidSP databases, eg
students?

We have the period between 16 and 29 May to access the redesigned HDAS -
and comment on it to NHS Evidence - before it goes live on 31st May.
This will give you a chance to familiarise yourselves with the new look
- and to incorporate it into your training and promotional materials.
Please note that SHALL's Expert Test Group has been testing this over
the last week or so - and has been feeding back comments to the NHS
Evidence team.
