italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies Call for Papers
SUBMISSION DEADLINE: 2 giugno 2012

It is with great pleasure that we announce the frst Graduate Conference on “Adaptation: The transformation of stories through code-switching”. The conference will be held on 22 June 2012 and will be jointly hosted by the University of Bologna and the University of Cagliari, simultaneously connected to a shared virtual room.
The conference is organized in cooperation with Between, the international peerreviewed, open-access journal of the Italian Association for the Theory and Comparative History of Literature – Compalit whose forthcoming monographic issue, edited by Massimo Fusillo, Marina Guglielmi and Linda Hutcheon, is dedicated to the same topic (for more information, please visit the journal Call for Papers page [http://ojs.unica.it/index.php/between/pages/view/Call%202012]<http://ojs.unica.it/index.php/between/pages/view/Call%202012%5D>).
This graduate conference aims at bringing together doctoral and postdoctoral researchers in order to discuss notions and research perspectives and foster the elaboration of well-developed papers that may be later submitted for publication to Between (please note that the selection of the essays to be published will follow the standard submission and peer-review process of the journal). We encourage the presentation of both self-contained and working papers. We appreciate submissions that address the topic from a variety of disciplinary approaches.
Presentations should not exceed 20 minutes (approximately 8-10 pages of doublespaced text). Papers and presentations may be in Italian or English. Abstracts of 300 words along with a short biographical note and a cover sheet with the title of your presentation and the conference venue of your choice (Bologna or Cagliari) should be sent to [log in to unmask]<mailto:[log in to unmask]>.
