Faculty Position in Pediatric Neuroimaging (Open Rank)
As part of our targeted development of our clinical and cognitive neuroscience programs, The Children's Learning Institute at the University of Texas Health Science Center (UTHealth) is recruiting an established scientist with expertise in pediatric fMRI studies in Educational Neuroscience and/or developmental cognitive neuroscience.
As part of the Medical School at UTHealth, state-of-the-art neuroimaging facilities dedicated to research activities include a Philips 3T MRI scanner and a mock scanner for introducing children to the MRI procedure before they participate in research studies. Currently funded pediatric neuroimaging research studies highlight the ease of accessibility to both developmental and acquired injury populations of children in the Houston Metropolitan Area.
The successful candidate will assume a leadership role in developing an independent research program as well as building collaborative projects with existing faculty members which include Response to Intervention study designs (http://www.childrenslearninginstitute.org/) in educational research areas such as Language and Literacy, Reading Comprehension and Math Calculation, Social and Emotional Development, Attention and Executive Control, and Motor Skill Learning.
The successful candidate will have strong academic credentials, an outstanding record of research productivity, and evidence of extramural funding. Additional requirements include interest and skills in collaborating with researchers in education, developmental psychology, neuropsychology, and the clinical sciences.
