Hello Varina,
the -A option does require a width ( in pixels ) the -x -y options generate a single file each e.g. you could have:
-x 0.35 test1.png -x 0.45 test2.png
as part of the slicer command.
You may want to manually add the .png extension to outputfilename otherwise I think slicer will default to a different image format.
