Fixed term from 1 September 2012 to 30 June 2013

The Centre for World Cinemas (CWC) invites applications for a fixed-term, 10-month position of Teaching Fellow in World Cinemas. This post is based in the UK’s largest School of Modern Languages and Cultures (SMLC). You will be capable of offering teaching at all levels of the undergraduate programme in World Cinemas and will contribute to the teaching of other modules on UG and PG levels from across the School. Candidates with the capacity to deliver research-led teaching in any area of World Cinemas are encouraged to apply, though preference will be given to applicants with expertise in comparative approaches across cultures and cinematic traditions, in tune with the teaching responsibilities described below.

With a completed or nearly completed PhD in any area of film studies, you will be able to demonstrate effective teaching skills and a range of delivery techniques and assessment methods. You will also be capable of taking on appropriate administrative responsibilities and of making a major contribution, in the context of the University’s employability strategy, to School initiatives that help students to develop the attributes that will make them highly employable after graduation.
