Dear Members,
*Apologies for cross posting*
The Archives and Records Association Scotland is pleased to announce that three bursaries are available for a day's registration at this year's ARA conference in Brighton. The conference is on the theme of 'Progression, Innovation and New Landscapes' and will provide a welcome opportunity for archivists, conservators and records managers to discuss the current challenges and issues involved in working in and promoting our profession. You can access the conference website at http://www.archives.org.uk/ara-conference/the-ara-conference.html
The bursaries have been provided by SCAN (the Scottish Archives Network) and are available to anyone currently working, studying or volunteering in an appropriate professional environment in Scotland. Applicants whose employers would not normally be able to fund their attendance will be given a priority. Applicants should be members or student members of ARA and be willing to report on the conference using a variety of different media.
Successful applicants will receive a full day delegate rate for the day of their choice and a contribution towards their travel and accommodation. Applications will be reviewed by the ARA Scotland executive committee and the committee's intention is to award one bursary to an archivist, one to a records manager and one to a conservator if suitable applications are received.
Applicants should submit a statement outlining their previous and current work experience and stating why they would benefit from a bursary.
Closing date for applications is Friday 22 June 2012.
Applications should be sent to Jane Petrie, ARA Scotland Secretary, [log in to unmask]
Kind regards,
Jane Petrie
