This is no Hordeum, but most probably part of a grape seed. Could you add a size scale?
Best regards

Emne: Help Confirming Identification
Hello,
I'm trying to identify the plant which produced the part in the attached photo (of the lemma?). I'm not a botanist -- I'm a nautical archaeologist who found 20 or so of these things in some bilge mud from a 6th century AD shipwreck. My initial guess is Hordeum, but I'm not convinced. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks for any help...
