A student placement position has become available, We are effectively looking for a research assistant (details below) starting in June/July 2012, which will last for 12 months. If any of your students are interested please follow the instructions below.

Overview

Harris Interactive is a full service global market research agency, known widely for the Harris Poll and for pioneering innovative methodologies. Our activities span both business-to-business and consumer markets: specialising in financial services and general markets, and in telecoms, media, technology and entertainment. We blend focused sector expertise with award winning research designs and approaches, with particular strengths in stakeholder relationship consulting and brand research. Our engagements range from tactical one-off projects to ongoing strategic tracking studies.

Job Specification

Working with household names in a number of areas such as Financial Services, Automotive, Energy & Industrial, Personal Care and Food & Drink; this role offers exposure to a variety of blue chip clients. The Research Assistant role is a great opportunity for an individual to develop their skills and knowledge through providing support to the team with managing small and large-scale complex qualitative and quantitative projects. You would certainly be expected to make a difference and contribute positively to the team. Formal and in-formal (on-the-job) training will be provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Responsible for providing day-to-day support in setting up and managing research projects
• Liaising with other internal teams to ensure the smooth running of the project
• Monitor online reporting tools
• Help to prepare, write and check accuracy of reports and presentations for client delivery
• Respond to ad-hoc requests for information from clients
• Liaise with clients in a clear and professional manner
• Analyses and synthesises qualitative and quantitative data with some support
• Prepares specifications for data collection, data processing
• General administration duties

• Clear and confident verbal and written communication
• Analytical and focussed
• Proven organisational skills
• Attention to detail
• Team player with a can-do attitude
• Good MS Office skills(Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
