looks like you should upgrade to SL 5.7/5.8 first. I don't know exactly
at which minor version fuse was added upstream to RHEL5 ... BUT:
[root@jux4f ~]# lsb_release -d
Description: Scientific Linux SL release 5.7 (Boron)
[root@jux4f ~]# rpm -q fuse
fuse-2.7.4-8.el5
[root@jux4f ~]# rpm -qR fuse
/bin/sh
/bin/sh
/bin/sh
MAKEDEV
chkconfig
config(fuse) = 2.7.4-8.el5
initscripts
kernel >= 2.6.14
libc.so.6()(64bit)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.2.5)(64bit)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.3)(64bit)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.3.4)(64bit)
libc.so.6(GLIBC_2.4)(64bit)
libpthread.so.0()(64bit)
libpthread.so.0(GLIBC_2.2.5)(64bit)
rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1
rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1
rtld(GNU_HASH)
shadow-utils
which
[root@jux4f ~]#
So there are no dependencies on any fuse kernel modules any more. CVMFS
does a clean install here (DESY-ZN) without any dependency problems.
Cheers,
Andreas
