Subject: UrbanRain12 ANNOUNCEMENT
Dear Colleague,
"Urban challenges in rainfall analysis" is the title of the 9th
International Workshop on Precipitation in Urban Areas which will
traditionally take place in St Moritz, Switzerland, from 6-9 December 2012.
The new venue is Hotel Randolins in a charming mountain setting which
will surely stimulate the usual creative atmosphere of the Workshop.
Thematically this year we would like to focus on three areas: a)
monitoring and modelling of precipitation, especially extremes; b)
assessment of methods for quantitative precipitation forecasting in
urban areas, and c) studies of the impacts of climate and environmental
change on urban systems. We invite you to submit your work in these
areas to the Workshop.
Workshop participation will be limited to 70 persons, so please consider
taking action and submitting your abstract early, and definitely by the
deadline 4 May 2012. We will be happy to see you in St Moritz. Please
forward this announcement to your colleagues and post the attached
call-for-papers in your coffee room.
More information can be found on www.ifu.ethz.ch/urbanrain.
Please turn to Ms Manuela Haas at the Workshop Office with any questions.
Best regards,
Peter Molnar
for the UrbanRain12 Organizing Committee
