The National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) is one of Britain’s most influential and prestigious independent research centres. It specialises in applied social and economic research, using both qualitative and quantitative methods.
We are looking for a temporary junior researcher to work on social policy issues, particularly welfare to work. The contract would be initially for 3 months, with the possibility of a permanent post depending on funding position.
Candidates should be experienced in all stages of qualitative research, including setting up, conducting interviews, data analysis and report writing. They should have a strong interest in policy in relation to welfare to work or employment. Applicants should be of high academic calibre, with a good relevant degree, a post-graduate qualification and relevant research experience.
Starting salary in the range of £24,500 to £28,000 depending on qualifications and experience. Staff have the option of joining the USS pension scheme.
