Postdoctoral Position
University of Athens
Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoctoral research position in
the area of computational high energy astrophysics at the Department of
Astronomy & Astrophysics of the University of Athens, Greece. Applicants
should have obtained a Ph.D. in astronomy or a related field by the
starting date of the appointment.
The successful candidate is expected to work on simulations of the high
energy spectra of AGN. A strong background on the physics of compact
objects, AGN radiation processes and computational physics is desirable.
The theoretical group at the Astrophysics & Astronomy Department of the
University of Athens comprises three professors and several graduate
students. Research is conducted in radiative transport and MHD of AGNs and
GRBs.
The starting date of the post is in Autumn 2012 and the gross monthly
salary is 2,800 euros. Interested candidates should send a curriculum
