Subject: [PSCI-COM] TV Channel
Almost every week there are new channels appearing on digital TV. Why is
there not a Science Communication Channel containing science, technology
and medicine? Science Communication has broadened in so many directions
that there could be music, laughter and drama, as well as news,
discussion and engagement. Sky Arts is often praised, so why not
Sci-Com?
It is not that expensive to start a TV channel these days, and there
would be support from science research groups, institutes, etc., as well
as ads from technology companies and health organisations. Given that
science is moving so fast and changing so many ideas there would be no
shortage of material.
And perhaps there could be a Science X-Factor competition to encourage
amateur research?
