Leading the research and practice of contemporary art in Australia, Sydney College of the Arts (SCA) delivers innovative educational programs that support the professional success of graduates.
Located in historic Callan Park, (close to the Sydney CBD), SCA continues the tradition of academic excellence associated with Australia's first university.
We are currently seeking a highly talented and motivated artist-academic with an active and publicly recognised contemporary art practice in which photomedia plays a central role. In this role you will make a significant contribution to:
* undergraduate teaching, course coordination and curriculum development
* postgraduate and honours student supervision
* the research strengths of the college, including the pursuit of external research grants and the production of quality creative arts output e.g. solo and group exhibitions, journal articles and conference presentations
* the school's expanding program of professional collaboration
* academic administration and service activities.
To be successful you will possess:
* a Master of Fine Arts (or equivalent) as a minimum, with a preference for a completed or close to complete PhD (or equivalent)
* successful teaching experience at tertiary level in related courses, and the commitment to teach a broad range of subjects
* the desire to continually develop teaching and research expertise, including innovative curriculum development and adapting models to suit tertiary education
* the capacity to supervise postgraduate research students
* an established practice and research record, which will include galleries whose programs support innovation in the contemporary visual arts
* the ability to attract external funding for your research
* focused expertise in a field of contemporary art in which photomedia plays a central role
* specific knowledge of, and experience in, current documentary practice
* a sound knowledge of analogue processes and digital software and technologies and the ability to devise teaching programs linking these to studio courses
* academic administrative and team work skills
* an understanding of EEO principles and practices.

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education.
