Last chance to book on this popular course! - Developing a strategy for
mobile: Martin White
Venue: CILIP, 7 Ridgmount Street, London, WC1E 7AE
Date: Thursday, 3 May, 2012 - 09:30 - 16:30
Course Outline:
55 million tablet devices were shipped in 2011, and the forecast is that
perhaps 90 million will be shipped in 2012. These devices have
transformed the market for mobile access to web and intranet
information. Increasingly it is recognised that a mobile strategy has
to focus on integrated information access across smart-phones, tablets
and pcs, with delivery to internet TV on the near horizon. It is not
just about adapting content for different screen formats but taking into
account issues such as the lack of multi-tasking on tablets and
supporting the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) policy that is now emerging
as the preferred option.
Among the subjects to be covered will be:
* An overview of mobile technology and future developments
* The lessons from early adopters
* Bringing smart-phones, tablets and pcs together
* Governance and information security
* Good practice in user interface design
* Making the business case for investment in mobile applications
* Sources of information on mobile applications and technologies
The course will be a mixture of presentations and group work to enable
delegates to develop a strategy framework for use in their own
organisation.
Who should attend:
Intranet and web managers who wish to take advantage of the potential of
delivering information to smart-phones and tablet devices.
Course Presenter: Martin White
The course will be presented by Martin White, Managing Director,
Intranet Focus Ltd. He has been tracking developments in mobile
