The main responsibilities of the role include:
1) To provide clerical assistance to the Librarian: Resources and Research in relation to collection development, cataloguing, acquisitions and circulation activities.
2) To be responsible for various projects to improve the library service
3) To be responsible for managing the day to day activities at the Library counter/enquiry desk; this requires allocating tasks and prioritising work.
4) To supervise library staff undertaking certain aspects of the counter routines e.g. jobs of the week, resource processing
5) To undertake counter duties either as the senior in charge or as part of the Counter Rota
6) To carry out inter Library loan procedures and literature searches
