The CLOCKSS Archive Is Pleased to Announce the Participation of Two New
Publishers in Its Digital Preservation Archive: fig*share* and Pensoft
Publishing.
fig*share* Preserves with the CLOCKSS Archive
“Persistence is something the research community cares deeply about – a
community we serve at figshare” said Mark Hahnel, founder of figshare
“CLOCKSS provides the secure solution we need to ensure long term access in
our continued commitment to the preservation of new research outputs.”
About fig*share*:
fig*share* allows researchers to publish their data in a citable,
searchable and sharable manner. The data can come in the form of individual
figures, datasets, or video files, and users are encouraged to share their
negative data and unpublished results too. All data is persistently stored
online under the most liberal Creative Commons licence, waiving copyright
where possible. This allows scientists to access and share the information
from anywhere in the world with minimal friction. fig*share* offers
unlimited storage space for data that is made publicly available on the
site, and as of today is also offering 1GB of free storage space for users
looking for a secure, private area to store their research. Users of the
new site will maintain full control over the management of their research
whilst benefiting from global access, version control, and secure backups
in the cloud.

Pensoft Publishing with the CLOCKSS Archive
“The agreement with CLOCKSS brought to us a long-seeked solution for
fully automated harvesting, ingesting and preservation of the electronic
content of our open access journals. Besides, the adjustment of our
publishing system to CLOCKSS archive would make it attractive for other
journals’ publishers to use” said Dr Lyubomir Penev, managing director of
Pensoft.
About Pensoft Publishers
Pensoft Publishers specialize in academic and professional book and
journal publishing, mostly in the field of biodiversity science and natural
history. Starting in 1994, Pensoft has become one of the leading academic
publishers based in Eastern Europe with more than 800 books and ebooks
published so far. Pensoft largely performs their activities in English,
with only a minor fraction of our own publications being in French, German,
Russian, or other languages. In 2010, Pensoft launched their own
open-access journal publishing platform that implements cutting-edge
technologies for semantic markup and automated dissemination of the
published content. Currently Pensoft publishes 10 open-access journals (
www.pensoft.net/journals). The flagship journal ZooKeys is recognized as a
technological leader in publishing and dissemination of biodiv
