Nick,
I'm afraid you sent your reply to the wrong Roger Thomas, I'm Roger JC Thomas, whereas you were after Roger M Thomas.

Nick
The project team has thought about this - on p. 2 of the 'project precis' document it states that 'the ADS will obtain copyright permission form the originating bodies prior to any public uploading'.
Am I right in thinking that copies of all this material would be available under FOI (or EIR) anyway, and that supplying copies under FOI does not involve breach of copyright (but does not permit the recipient to make further copies of the material and distribute them more widely)?
Best wishes
Roger

not sure if anyone has thought about this, but the methodology involves scanning/photocopying all of a relevant report - does this not have copyright implications?
Chris - you might want to flag that up to the team?
best wishes

Neil Holbrook of Cotswold Archaeology has asked me to let you know about this new project - which may not be news to some HERs in the east of England or the four pilot areas (Somerset, Essex, Warwickshire and S & W Yorks).
Basically the idea is to follow Richard Bradley's work on prehistory for the Roman period and I attach two documents giving an outline of the project and how HERs might be involved.
I've asked Neil to come to talk to a HERforum meeting later in the project when he has some results. The results of the Somerset pilot were published in Somerset Archaeology and Natural History 154 (2010) if anyone has access and wants to read it.
