Dear all,
Those of you attending EGU in Vienna next week will be interested in two keynote lectures being given by members of the UK geophysical community (coincidentally, both based at Newcastle University!):
Tue, 24 Apr 2012, 19:00-20:00, Room 1
The Bullerwell Lecture of the British Geophysical Association
[EGU2012-13823] Towards accurate observation and modelling of Antarctic glacial isostatic adjustment
M. King

Thu, 26 Apr, 19:00-20:00, Room 18
Petrus Peregrinus Medal Lecture
[EGU2012-14448] Orthogonality of Harmonic Potentials and Fields in Spheroidal Coordinates
F.J. Lowes
http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2012/oral_programme/10829
Citation (from the Copernicus website): The Petrus Peregrinus Medal is awarded to Frank Lowes for innovative research in geomagnetism, notably the first experimental geodynamo model, the spatial geomagnetic power spectrum, error analysis of satellite data, and leadership in the community developing the IGRF.
Please support these events and congratulate our UK colleagues on these honours.
Best regards,
Pete.
