Dear All
Applications are invited for an Experimental Officer in Magnetic
Resonance Imaging in the University of York, UK, Centre for
Hyperpolarisation in Magnetic Resonance (CHyM) associated with the
Departments of Chemistry, the York Neuroimaging Centre, Psychology, the
Hull York Medical School and Biology. The position is available for a
period of 3 years from 1 July 2012. The successful candidate will be
responsible for the day-to-day operation of the 7Tesla preclinical MRI
equipment within the research centre, provide training where necessary
and support the general research aims of the centre. The post holder
requires a good practical knowledge and familiarity with MRI.
Researchers in CHyM will employ a technique to transfer magnetization
from parahydrogen to molecules without the need for a formal chemical
reaction, amongst other techniques, to do this. This tool will be
applied to the study of diseases of the nervous system, of infectious
and non-infectious origin that are associated with neuroinflammation.
