The 6th International Conference on RESEARCH CHALLENGES IN INFORMATION
SCIENCE (RCIS’12), sponsored by IEEE Spain, will take place in Valencia
(Spain) from 16 to the 18th of May 2012. RCIS’12 provides a forum to
learn and discuss about various topics on information science taken from
the view point of academy as well as industry. RCIS'12 gives you the
opportunity to share knowledge with other people about computer science
engineering and learn new topics through a carefully selected tutorial
programme.

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

44 high quality presentations have been selected for presentation in 8
sessions on: Ontologies and Data Warehouse, Information Search,
Extraction and Mining, Security and Trust, Information Systems and
Services, Data Provenance and Data Querying, Requirements Engineering,
User-Centered Approaches, Ontologies, Conceptual Modeling and
Interoperability.
Moreover, we have a doctoral consortium with 12 presentations and a
poster session with 9 works.
INDUSTRY DAY
============
On the 18th of May RCIS'12 will feature an industry day with a specific
program containing presentations of industrial professionals. This track
aims to share knowledge between industry and academy. There are several
presentations and posters from different companies.

RCIS has 5 tutorials distributed throughout all the sessions of the
conference:

The Conference Registration fee includes the admission to all these
tutorials.
CONFERENCE DINNER
=================
A spectacular diner will take place the 17th of May, on the Valencian
beach in hotel "Las Arenas".
TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
===================
In May, Valencia is a warm place where RCIS attendees can enjoy during
their free time the beach, the historical city centre, the arts and
science museum with the “oceanographic”, the “bioparc” zoo, or the
popular footing race called “volta a peu”.
