I recently developed a joint model using WBUGS 1.4.3 and it seems to
run to convergence
while using either WinBUGS 1.4.3 or R2WinBUGS. However when I run the
exact same code and inits using BRugs calling OpenBUGS
it fails to converge and always gives negative DIC and pD (due to a very
large Dhat), whereas on the converged version on 1.4.3 it give positive
DIC and pD
and much smaller Dhat.
I assume this is to do with the default samplers on OpenBUGS.
My questions is two -fold:
1) I noticed that OpenBUGS doesn't produce the component DICs for joint
models (unlike WinBUGS). is there a way to get these
easily using BRugs?
2) Can I get the settings for samplers on OpenBUGS to yield a match to
WinBUGS so that I can ensure convergence?
Any help welcome
