Presents the second annual CONFERENCE:
* *
Protest and Public Space
Public space endures as a dynamic site for the transformation of
identities, democratic practices, and political infrastructures in cities
around the world. Recent events from Tahrir Square to Zuccotti park
underscore the potential of public spaces to serve as catalysts for social
and political change. Over two days, we will interrogate the contemporary
and historical roles of public space in urban life. Panelists include both
senior and emerging scholars in the field as well as activists who work for
social justice.
