Can we have a bit more context? Not just a description of the portal? -
you would expect there to be a "yard" outside with plant, equipment etc
stored, and screens etc for processing.
Born and raised within a couple of miles of Llansamlet - never heard
this particular phrase - nor for that matter, the place name Llanerch
