Hi Mike,
Here in the Trust it's not used just by doctors. I was asked by our Professor of Clinical Nursing to create a secure online forum with the ability to store documents. Having looked at a variety of resources wiki's etc. I decided on doccom as its already being used in the Trust and I created a group set up to help nurses across the Trust discuss research issues.
Kind Regards,
Helen

Looks like another appearance of the "for-doctors-by-doctors"
phenomenon, where they support a copycat product purely because it is run by medics

Subject: Doccom
We've been approached by other staff at our Trust to attend a presentation organised by a company called Doccom. Their product appears to be a sort of mix between Linked In and Facebook for healthcare staff.
Its website gives the impression that it is free. If this is the case I am surprised that a company rep can spare the time to organise a presentation, but this may be down to the advertising potential of the site. Does anybody have any knowledge of this service and, if so, is able to offer any feedback about the product?
