This email has been sent to members of the BSA Sport Study Group.
Dear BSA Study Group Member
As you will have read I recently took over from Dominic Malcolm as convenor of the BSA Sport Study Group. I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for the excellent work he undertook in that role.
As a means to further developing the flow of information and communication exchange between members I have established the SPORT-STUDY-GROUP list accessible via JISCmail.
In future to obtain this email and sport study group e-news you should ask to subscribe to the JISCmail list as a member of the Sport Study Group. If you have any queries about this please contact Dr Mark Doidge [[log in to unmask]] who has kindly agreed to act as Membership Secretary or myself. Membership of the study group remains free to all BSA members, students and the unwaged. Those with institutional support are asked to pay a one-off joining fee of £50.
Further details of the work of the sport study group will be available at the annual business meeting scheduled to be held at the BSA Annual Conference in Leeds on 13 April between 12:30 and 1:30 pm.
Please help to publicise the work of the study group by forwarding this email to other colleagues or networks who may be interested in research on the sociology of sport.
If you would like me to send information about jobs, conferences, funding, research, papers and reviews of relevant meetings, reports, books/papers to members of the group then please email me, John Horne [[log in to unmask]].
Links to relevant research can also be added to the study group website (http://www.britsoc.co.uk/specialisms/Sport.aspx).
Please contact Mark Doidge [[log in to unmask]] with queries relating to membership.
The Sport Study Group is a specialist study group of the British Sociological Association (http://www.britsoc.co.uk/).
All best wishes
John
