The SPM5 DICOM worked for us in the FIL, and for data from a variety
of scanners. However, it may not have worked for others because DICOM
can be quite variable, and some manufacturers do not include the
header information needed to easily sort the slices into volumes.
Over time, we try to fix the code so that it deals with a wider range
of data. There have been many such fixes to the DICOM conversion
since SPM5.
