Good Afternoon,

After Lee stepped down from RMS-North, a few volunteers kindly came forward to help revive the group and take it forward. I think we now ready to relaunch.

I have been persuaded to take the Chair and will be supported / assisted / prompted by Sarah Graham (Newcastle Libraries) and Alan Lowe (Health Informatics Consultant).

We are very keen to have input and suggestions from yourselves. Initially, our key objectives are; Improved Communication and a arranging a Group Meeting. 

One area of concern is how difficult it is, in the current climate, for members to attend meetings and events. Perhaps we should consider evenings and weekends? Or perhaps video conferencing is the way forward?

The National Group also has some exciting idea's for promoting itself regionally. I will have more information on this and other useful tools for our group, after the conference.

As advised it is our intention to hold a meeting asap. The date and venue have still to be confirmed but it will be at the end of June in the North East region and the key subject will be Retention Schedules.

The RMS-North Group has been very strong in the past. We have held events which have been informative and also created a warm friendly environment where Records Managers can exchange thoughts and idea's to the benefit of all.

I sincerely hope that we can continue that tradition.
