As the Republic of Ireland is an independent country with its own
legislature and statute law, I think it's safe to say that no UK legislation
applies in the Republic. As the Republic is a member of the EU, EU
Directives will have been, or will be in the process of being, incorporated
into local law so there will be similarities of requirement, if not of
wording, to relevant UK legislation. The Republic's Freedom of Information
Act pre-dates the UK FOIA by several years.
Are you thinking of Northern Ireland legislation, perhaps?
